Genius Loci produces made-to-order objects, tools, and components, crafted either in-house or in collaboration with specialized manufacturing partners. Every order is prepared deliberately, inspected before shipment, and released only when it meets our standards.

Because of this approach, shipping timelines vary by product type.


Made-to-Order Production & Lead Times

Most Genius Loci products are not pre-stocked. Once your order is placed and payment is confirmed, it enters a production queue.

Made-to-order production allows us to:

  • maintain quality control

  • reduce excess inventory

  • iterate responsibly

  • produce only what is needed

This means your item is created specifically for you, rather than pulled from a shelf.

Typical Production Timelines

Partner-manufactured products (wheels, specialty components) 2–5 weeks

Production timelines are estimates and may vary slightly based on order volume, complexity, or material availability.

Once production is complete, your order moves immediately to fulfillment.


Shipping Methods & Fulfillment Locations

Orders may ship from:

  • our in-house workshop (United States)

  • trusted international manufacturing partners (including Europe and Asia)

We ship using established carriers such as:

  • USPS

  • UPS

  • FedEx

  • DHL

Carrier selection is based on destination, package size, and shipping method availability.


Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are calculated dynamically at checkout based on:

  • item size and weight

  • destination

  • carrier availability

We do not use flat-rate estimates unless explicitly stated. This ensures shipping costs are accurate and transparent.

Once your order ships, typical transit times are:

Partner-manufactured items shipping from overseas facilities may follow international transit timelines.


Order Tracking

When your order ships, you will receive:

  • a shipping confirmation email

  • a tracking number

  • a carrier tracking link

Tracking information may take 24–48 hours to activate after shipment.


Split Shipments

If your order includes multiple items with different production timelines or fulfillment locations, items may ship separately.

You will receive tracking information for each shipment.


Customs, Duties & Taxes (International Orders)

For international shipments:

  • customers are responsible for any import duties, VAT, or customs fees

  • these charges are determined by your local customs authority

  • such fees are not included in our product prices or shipping charges


Address Accuracy & Delivery Issues

Please confirm your shipping address is correct at checkout.

Genius Loci is not responsible for:

  • packages delivered to incorrect addresses

  • carrier delays

  • customs processing delays

If a package is returned due to an address error, reshipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.


Lost or Damaged Packages

If your order arrives damaged or does not arrive:

  • contact us within 5 days of delivery

  • include photos if damage is visible

We will work with the carrier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
